Like the other model in the range, which I put the top 10 and best training collars in different posts on this website, I am completely won over by theSportTrainerhunting dog collar. Its efficiency is appreciable and removes any stress during outings with my Springer Spaniel. I only tested it once because personally, I don’t need such a working distance. But, I could see that the huge figure of 1,200 m was true. It’s impressive to see such a reach!
I have not tried the electricity, only the vibrations. The dog feels them perfectly and comes back to his master. Another positive point, the great autonomy of the battery while an hour and a half are sufficient to recharge it.

My opinion on this Petsafe collar
The training collar test was carried out with a Breton spaniel who liked to flee in the forest in search of a game as soon as it was detached. For his safety, the master wanted to try an anti-fugue collar, benefiting from a very large range to give him maximum freedom. This model is therefore perfect for him and the advertised range of 900 m is not a decoy unlike other products available on the market. The dog quickly learned to stop his frantic races once the stimulation was activated and over time understood that he should not stray too far from his master. Not insignificant, autonomy allows intensive use to train a dog for more than a week without requiring a recharge. Get in the habit of recharging it at a specific day and time each week and you won’t have the bad surprise of seeing the battery dead one day when you go for a walk. Very positive test.

For an effective test of this relatively uncommonspray method, I gathered different opinions around me. Critics diverge.
Indeed, if your dog is naturally submissive and rather calm, although sometimes a little crazy when the excitement is felt, it is the perfect and best collar for dog training. The animal will assimilate as quickly as with electrical stimulation that what it is doing is not desired by its owner and it will stop. This alternative is ideal for those who see the electric collar as barbaric and who have dogs that are not very receptive to vibrations. It is also interesting in the gentle education and training of a puppy.
On the other hand, if you’ve adopted a sturdy, authority-reluctant doggie, my opinion is completely different. He might be embarrassed by the spray, at least a little, and then not really care. A friend who has a Malinois quickly returned to a classic model because it did not respond to the spray at all. In addition, a distance of 275 meters is relatively short. This characteristic comforts me in the idea that a great runner or a stubborn one is not the target of this product.

This model from the Petsafe range is designed for the education and training of small dogs. The manufacturer recommends use with sizes ranging from 3.6 kg to 18 kg. For this, the collar is only 64g which is half the size of most of the available pet collars. Its range is very small, the lowest of our products tested and reaches 100 meters, no more. It has eight different stimulation levels accompanied by a beep sound. However, given the target of this benchmark, you will never reach the last levels unless you have the most stubborn companion in France.
My opinion on this Petsafe collar
The collar PDT45-13472 benefits from the Petsafe quality. It works perfectly and there is a real difference between the stimulation levels. I tested it on a Yorkie and the lightweight of the collarnever hampered his runs or forced him to limit his runs. For careful listening to the reminder, I never needed to go beyond level 3.
However, I remain mixed because the range limited to 100 m. Admittedly, small dogs do not need 900 m to flourish, but the distance chosen by the manufacturer is really too small. In the end, you risk activating the stimulation quickly for fear that your four-legged friend will exceed the maximum limit for the recall, 250 m would not have been too much.

My opinion on this Petsafe collar model PDT20-12471
The PDT20-12471collar has been tested on a Jack Russel and my opinion is very divided. Indeed, efficiency is, as with the entire Petsafe range, there. The dog feels the stimulations perfectly and the beep has the ideal tone level. However, the range is really too low, and reserves this necklace for short walks. When going out in the forest or in the fields, you may quickly wonder every second whether the maximum range has already been reached or not. For an anti-fugue collar fashion, this is far from optimal.
In addition, the price that can be found on Amazon is, for my taste, too high given this range. Especially since the autonomy seems quite light after a few weeks of use. At this price, better to turn to the Petsafe SportTrainer or even, courses with a canine behaviorist.
